Healing for the Brothers: Sacred Conversations Launches First Men’s Wellness Weekend in Brooklyn

 Men’s Wellness Weekend

After years of leading powerful spiritual retreats for women in Barbados, Simone Arthur of Sacred Conversations is bringing her transformative healing experience to men for the first time — and the timing couldn’t be more sacred.

The inaugural Men’s Wellness Weekend will take place June 13–14, 2025, at Brooklyn’s historic Weeksville Heritage Center (158 Buffalo Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11213). Set on the grounds of one of America’s first free Black communities, this location was intentionally chosen to honor the spirits of the Ancestors and ground the event in a legacy of strength, liberation, and community care.

“In creating a new offering of healing and for the work that I do, it was essential to find a place rooted in the spirit of our Ancestors,” says Simone. “Weeksville represents that place. It is the hallowed site of a community of some of our early Ancestors who fought for liberation, freedom, and the well-being of their communities. I’m honored to have them look over the sacred work we will do here.”

The two-day experience will gather a small group of Black men from across the Diaspora to explore confidence, clarity, grief processing, emotional resilience, and spiritual connection. In addition to teachings led by Simone, participants will be guided by Paul Sealy, a Master Mindset Change Coach, former national athlete of Barbados, and wellness professional with more than 20 years of experience.

Paul brings a unique blend of athletic discipline, spiritual grounding, and coaching finesse to his work. “These men are poised to undergo transformative growth this weekend,” he says. “They will gain the clarity and confidence to envision a future that taps into their full potential and empowers them to achieve their goals.”

Workshops will cover tools that include self-hypnosis for grounding, ancestral connection practices, and holistic wellness strategies. The retreat runs from 9:30AM to 4:30PM both days and includes a catered breakfast. Registration is now open at www.sacredconversations.com/men, with space limited to ensure intimacy and impact. The weekend investment is $699 USD.

The results speak for themselves. Asquith Selman, an IT professional and pastry chef who worked with Paul, shared, “I have been silently suffering with anger and sleep deprivation for just over two decades. After two sessions, I am already getting much more sleep at night and experiencing greater control of my anger. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.”

The Men’s Wellness Weekend is more than a retreat — it’s a reclamation. A chance for Black men to reconnect with their inner peace, spiritual strength, and ancestral wisdom in a safe and powerful space.
